MEET THE FOUNDER
Hope India Mission was founded in 1984 by Rev. Elavatta Abraham, a servant of God from South India. When young Abraham became hopeless in life after failing to go for his college studies, he chose to end his life by laying under a moving train. While trying to write a suicide note, the Lord prompted him to read the Bible and spoke to him from Ecclesiastes 7:16-18. ‘Why destroy yourself? Why die before your time?’ Abraham felt those two meaningful sentences pierced through his heart. He knelt down and gave his life into the hands of the loving Father. Then the Lord commissioned Abraham to North India from his home State, Kerala (South India). In obedience to His call, Abraham set out and established Hope India Mission in 1984. Hope India Mission is transforming lives and society through Reaching the Unreached, Child Care Centers, Mission Schools, Community Development Programs, Bible Colleges and a number of other initiatives.
