Transforming Communities through HIM

Community Education

Community Fellowship

Since its inception in 1984, HIM has been a steadfast companion to thousands of underprivileged and needy people in India. Through our dedication and hard work, we have witnessed the reunification of many broken families, provided relief to alcoholics and drug addicts, and offered newfound hope and purpose to numerous youngsters. The very villages and areas that were once plagued by abuse, robbery, fighting, and violence have transformed into centers of care, sharing, and fellowship. These remarkable community transformations are the result of visionary leadership and the wholehearted commitment of our Chief Functionary, Rev. Dr. E. A. Abraham, along with his dedicated social work team. HIM's social development initiatives have not only motivated but also challenged individuals to attain physical, mental, and emotional well-being. We have successfully trained numerous full-time social workers and hundreds of volunteers who are actively engaged in various villages across North India, making a meaningful impact on the lives of countless individuals.

Child Development Centers

Barnabas and Esther Homes are HIM's orphanages, dedicated to bringing light into the lives of orphans and needy children in the State of Bihar, North India. These homes offer not only free value-based education but also cater to all their essential needs, all of which are provided to them at no cost. It's through the generous support of our sponsors and well-wishers that HIM is able to extend this invaluable service to these children.

Self-Employment Training Centers

Marginalized women and widows in India endure extremely challenging lives. The prevalence of widows in society is a result of high mortality rates due to various diseases, murders, and divorces. Child marriages, poverty, and illiteracy only exacerbate their difficulties. Unfortunately, many young women and widows fall victim to exploitation, lured by false promises of financial benefits and job opportunities by unscrupulous individuals. In a bid to prevent such exploitation and to aid these vulnerable women in society, Hope India Mission has initiated several Sewing Centers and other micro-business ventures. These initiatives are designed to empower them, enabling them to become self-sufficient and offering a ray of hope for a more dignified future.

Safe Drinking Water Projects

In the harsh summer season, people in many North Indian villages do not have access to wells and ponds. Most of the time, people have to walk miles in search of available water resources. To adjust to such difficulties, they are even forced to compromise on the quality of the water and collect it from any available sources. As a remedy to this situation, Hope India Mission has come up with the idea of installing tube and bore wells in various villages.

Non-Formal Education Centers

Hope India Mission brings the hope of light to many villages through its free non-formal education program. This initiative targets school dropouts and children from below poverty backgrounds. Additionally, Hope India Mission offers Akshara, an adult version of non-formal schooling designed for adults who cannot read or write. Every year, numerous children and adults benefit from these programs.

Disaster Relief

In the event of natural calamities, Hope India Mission swiftly forms a dedicated team to carry out relief efforts and extend a helping hand to the victims. Each year, HIM offers comfort, guidance, and financial assistance to numerous families affected by floods, cyclones, and droughts in North India. Our response team acts promptly, providing both short-term and long-term aid to those in need within the affected areas.

Mission Schools

Five of our Mission Schools play a significant role in nurturing responsible future citizens for the community and the nation. They serve as essential tools for repairing and reforming society. Additionally, these schools offer support to economically disadvantaged students, granting them access to education free of cost. This support empowers them to pursue higher studies and work towards realizing their dreams.

NeighborHope International

Loving your neighbors can be an enjoyable experience, almost like a party! NeighborHope Ministries International is a motivating movement that encourages Christian leaders to spread God's love and compassion to their neighbors through festive gatherings, including Christmas parties and other celebrations. These events provide an opportunity to share the true meaning of Christmas, Easter, and other occasions with the community. So far, we've successfully trained over 35000 leaders in organizing Christmas parties in their respective locations. During the Christmas season, accompanied by carolers, our dedicated believers visit households, extending invitations to join in the joyous Christmas celebrations.
